Dr. Kerstin Walendy-Gnirß

Dr. Kerstin Walendy-Gnirß studied cell biology (B.Sc.) from 2005 to 2008 and then went on to complete a master's degree in biomedicine in 2010. She then pursued a doctorate in infection biology and obtained her PhD in 2014.

Her career took her first to the German Primate Center (DPZ) in Göttingen as a postdoctoral researcher and then to the Leibniz Institute for Virology (LIV) in Hamburg. From 2018 to 2022, she worked at Charles River in Erkrath, first as a scientific officer for GMP studies and later as a supervisor in operations support. Since 2022, she has been Director of Scientific Service at Dr. Brill, responsible for the Hamburg and Bremen locations.

In her current position, Dr. Walendy-Gnirß acts as a scientific contact person for our customers and as a central interface to laboratory operations, focusing on bactericidal and virucidal efficacy testing of disinfectants and medical devices. She coordinates cross-functional tests and projects in routine and GLP environments, oversees the establishment and expansion of cooperation networks, including scientific consulting, and is involved in the further development of digital processes and the optimization of internal workflows. She also regularly holds training courses and specialist lectures.
